Former accountability court judge Arshad Malik has died due to corona.

(Sindh Tribune) :  Arshad Malik was admitted to a private hospital in Islamabad for treatment of Corona but died today due to Corona.

Corona has so far killed 8,260 people in Pakistan, while the number of infected patients has risen to more than 410,000.

Judge Arshad Malik's reason for fame.

Judge Arshad Malik had sentenced PML-N leader and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to seven years imprisonment and fine in the Azizia reference on December 24, 2018 while acquitting him in the flagship reference.

Following the court's decision, on July 6, 2019, Maryam Nawaz released an alleged audio-video tape, according to which Judge Arshad Malik passed the sentence under duress. However, Judge Arshad Malik denied this and termed the video as fake.

On this basis, Maryam Nawaz also demanded that since the judge had confessed in the video, the sentence passed on Nawaz Sharif should be declared null and void and he should be released.

Later, the Supreme Court took notice of the matter and Arshad Malik was removed from the post of accountability court judge and made an OSD while the Supreme Court had also issued a detailed verdict on the matter.

Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Qasim Khan had constituted a seven-member management committee on the issue, which had dismissed Arshad Malik after he was found to be a misconduct in the inquiry report.
