The Economic Co-ordination Committee fixed the subsidy price of wheat at Rs. 1650 per quintal.


(Sindh Tribune) : The ECC meeting chaired by Finance Advisor Abdul Hafeez Sheikh was held in Islamabad in which approval was given to provide 38,000 metric tonnes of wheat per day to flour mills, including 25,000 to Punjab, 8,000 to Sindh and 4,000 to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  One thousand metric tons of wheat will be released daily for Hazara and Balochistan but the current release price will remain at Rs. 1475 per man.

 In addition, Punjab will be provided an additional 700,000 tonnes of wheat, while a committee has been set up to review wheat imports.

 On the other hand, the ECC approved the release of a supplementary grant of Rs. 11.68 billion to the employees of Pakistan Steel Mills which would be for the employees who do not go to court.
