Karachi Kings won the trophy by defeating Lahore Qalandars in the PSL final.

(Sindh Tribune) :  Thanks to Babar Azam's brilliant batting, Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars to win the Pakistan Super League (PSL) trophy for the first time.

 The 'Dream Final' of PSL Five was played at the National Stadium Karachi between traditional rivals Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings.

 Both the teams reached the final for the first time but Lahore Qalandars did not play well in the final and Karachi Kings became the champions.

 Lahore won the toss and elected to bat first and set a target of 135 for victory which Karachi easily achieved in 18.4 overs at a loss of 5 wickets.

 Babar Azam once again scored a half century to lead his team to victory.

Lahore scored 134 runs for the loss of 7 wickets while playing first, Tamim Iqbal remained the top scorer with 35 runs.

 Waqas Maqsood, Arshad Iqbal and Ameed Asif took two wickets each for Karachi.

 In reply, Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam started the innings for Karachi Kings and put up a 23-run partnership for the first wicket.

 On this occasion, Sharjeel Khan was dismissed for 13 runs. Alex Hales (11) and Chadwick Walton (22) then returned to the pavilion.

Iftikhar Ahmed 4 and Sherfan Rutherford were out without scoring a run. After that, captains Emad Wasim and Babar Azam did not allow any more damage and led the team to victory.

 Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 63 and Emad Wasim on 10. Haris Rauf and Dilbar Hussain took two wickets each for Lahore.

 Babar Azam was adjudged the best batsman and player of the tournament, Shaheen Shah Afridi was adjudged the best bowler while Fakhr Zaman was adjudged the best fielder.
