Summary of ISI chief's transfer sent to Ministry of Defense , Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed likely to be made Corps Commander Karachi.

(Sindh Tribune) :  A summary of the transfer of ISI chief Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed has been sent to the Ministry of Defense.  The summary sent by the GHQ includes the names of three generals for the new ISI chief.

 Informed sources said that the summary includes the names of Lt. Gen. Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Lt. Gen. Nadeem Zaki Manj and Lt. Gen. Nadeem Ahmed Anjum.  General Sahir Shamshad Mirza is currently the Chief of General Staff, General Nadeem Zaki Manj is currently the Director General Strategic Plans Division and General Nadeem Ahmed Anjum is currently the Commandant Command and Staff College Quetta.

 Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed is likely to be made Corps Commander of Karachi as the six Corps Commanders of the Pakistan Army who are due to retire on December 10 include the current Corps Commander of Karachi, Lt. Gen. Humayun Aziz.

 In this regard, when Defense Ministry spokesman Ayaz Khan was contacted, he first said that he would find out about it and tell it later.  But when asked about the time of re-contact, he said that such a summary comes to the Ministry of Defense but it is better to ask the ISPR about it.  Asked to confirm or deny the summary, Ayaz Khan said, "I don't want to comment on it."  I have no choice.

 Sources confirmed the summary and said that it was sent a few days ago but no decision has been taken yet.

 Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed took over as Director General of ISI on June 16, 2019.  Before him, Lieutenant General Asim Munir Shah was its head, but only eight months later, he was replaced by the corps commander of Gujranwala.

 Some quarters call Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed the future army chief.  When current Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa retires after three years of extension, Faiz Hameed will be one of the most senior generals.

 Even before he became the head of ISI, Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed was in the news.  He is considered the mastermind of election engineering in the 2018 general elections.  PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif had criticized him for his name.  Talking to media on July 11, Nawaz Sharif had said that General Faiz Hameed and his team had played a role in changing the loyalty of their leaders.

 The name of the then Major General Faiz Hameed also came up on the occasion of Tehreek-e-Labak's Faizabad sit-in.  The agreement to end the sit-in was signed by the government and the leaders of the religious organization, as well as General Faiz Hameed.  Some quarters wondered why the military officer played a role in the political affair.
