PM Imran Khan proposes to "castrate" rape accused, system should be set up to monitor those facing such allegations.

 (Sindh Tribune) : Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he is in favor of depriving the perpetrators of rape and child sexual abuse of their sexual ability in the country and fresh legislation is needed in this regard.

 He said that like murder, sexual offenses should be classified in the law and rapists should be sexually disqualified.

 The statement by the Prime Minister of Pakistan came after a strong reaction to a recent incident of rape in Pakistan and protests in different parts of the country.

 The incident took place near Lahore, where two men raped a woman waiting for help in their car on the side of the road last night after torturing her in front of her children.

He said that like murder cases, rape should also be classified as a crime. Imran Khan said that in the case of rape, the perpetrators of 'first degree' should be disqualified through surgery.

 He said he had read that such punishment was being meted out in some parts of the world.

 Prime Minister Imran Khan said that when he came to power, he was in favor of public execution in the face of rising sex crimes in the country, but he was advised that doing so could provoke a global reaction.

 The Prime Minister of Pakistan in an interview given to private TV channel 92 News on Monday said that this incident has shaken the entire nation.  He said that one of the accused involved in the incident had been involved in gang rape in the past and fresh legislation was needed to deal with such people.

The prime minister said a system should be set up to monitor those facing such allegations.  He said that one accused was already involved in the cases in this (recent) incident so such legislation was necessary.

 "Such suspects should be registered with the police and monitored," he said.
