(Sindh Tribune) : The Lahore High Court has rejected the bail plea of Leader of the Opposition and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif in a money laundering reference, after which he was taken into custody from outside the court room.
At the last hearing, the Lahore High Court had directed Shahbaz Sharif's lawyers to complete their arguments by Monday.
Following arguments presented by Shahbaz Sharif's lawyers on Monday, the Lahore High Court decided to reject his bail plea, after which NAB officials arrested the opposition leader from outside the courtroom.
He will be produced in the NAB court on Tuesday.
It may be recalled that in June this year, the Lahore High Court had granted bail to Shahbaz Sharif and directed him to submit a bail bond of Rs 500,000.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz said in her Twitter message that Shahbaz Sharif's only fault was that he did not leave Nawaz Sharif's side.
He preferred to go to jail but stood by his brother. This retaliatory accountability cannot discourage Nawaz Sharif and his associates. The time is not far when the people will be held accountable for this government and those who brought it.

Make no mistake. Shehbaz Sharif has been arrested ONLY because he REFUSED to play in the hands of those who wanted to use him against his brother. He preferred standing behind prison bars than to stand against his brother. Shahbaz Sharif, aap ko SALAM!
she also said that if there was accountability and justice in this country, not Shahbaz Sharif, Asim Saleem Bajwa and his family would be arrested.
