NCB India Grills Deepika in Sushant drugs linked case, Shardha and Sara Ali Khan are also being questioned.

(Sindh Tribune) : Actress Deepika Padukone has been questioned by a narcotics board in connection with the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput in India.

Deepika is one of the six people who were summoned.  Two more actresses will be questioned on Saturday.

Earlier this month, Sushant Singh's girlfriend Riya Chakraborty was arrested on charges of buying drugs for him.  Rhea has denied the allegations.

The case has been widely reported in India's local media over the past few months, and speculation is rife.

According to reports, actress Sara Ali Khan and Shardha Kapoor will also appear for interrogation on Saturday. Raquel Phantom Singh was questioned on Friday.

Sushant, 34, was found dead in his flat in Mumbai on June 14. According to police, he had committed suicide.

But Sushant's family later filed a complaint against Riya, accusing her of involvement in other crimes, including facilitating suicide. Rhea has denied the allegations.

Three federal agencies are investigating the case.

Investigators are said to be providing some information to the media about the case and there are rumors about what actually happened or who the real culprits are.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) is conducting two investigations at the same time. The first investigation is against Riya, her brother and Sushant's former house manager.

According to local media, the second investigation is gathering information on allegations of widespread drug use by Bollywood stars. And it's trying to establish a connection with the first investigation.

Authorities are not openly disclosing the details to the media, leading to further rumors.

Immediately after Sushant's death, all attention was turned to Riya. He was accused of being the main character of many accusations and conspiracy theories.

NCB officials say they are also investigating Rhea's WhatsApp messages in which she allegedly talked about drugs.

Cannabis is banned in India, but the use of cannabis plants is legal and is used.

According to local media, narcotics officials say they want to question Deepika and her managers about their WhatsApp messages.

But it is unclear what happened in those messages.

Some say they are being targeted because they took part in a protest after violence against students at Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru University in January this year. People belonging to the ruling BJP were involved in these violent incidents.

At the time, supporters of the PJP had criticized Deepika and demanded a boycott of her film.

According to the Times of India, authorities claim that the drug dealers who have been interrogated have named some more actresses.
