(Sindh Tribune) : The FBR has rejected the reply filed by Serena Issa, wife of Supreme Court Judge Qazi Faiz Issa, regarding tax and issued a notice to her to pay Rs 3.5 crore in tax arrears.
Responding to the notice, Serena Issa alleged that the FBR authorities had issued the notice without listening to her.
The FBR sent a notice of payment a few days ago stating that they had bought property abroad and sent the money abroad, in addition to the tax they had not paid for some time. They will have to pay Rs 3.5 crore.
The FBR said, "Relevant authorities have completed the investigation and decided the case on law and merit." A detailed report will be submitted to the Supreme Court next week by the Federal Board of Revenue.
The wife of Justice Qazi Faiz Issa has decided to appeal against the decision of the FBR and according to the law, the appeal will be filed in the appellate tribunal of the FBR.
If the tribunal also rules against the appellant, then the matter can be taken to the High Court and the Supreme Court.
Serena Issa, responding to the FBR's notice, said that the present government had appointed an officer named Zulfiqar, one of all the FBR commissioners, to look after her tax affairs. He has given his opinion on tax matters last year.
Serena Issa said that she had submitted the answers to the notices sent by the FBR for submission of documents to the FBR authorities in July and August, but surprisingly, she His position was not heard.
He said FBR officials did not include agricultural land or the sale of property in the Clifton area, as well as his salary from a private school from 2007 to 2012.
The wife of Justice Faiz Issa said, "I am not sure whether the order to pay the fine was written by the FBR officer or by someone else."
Serena Issa also mentioned the threat received by her husband on social media and said that the police did not take any action regarding the threat for a week and during that time the accused got an opportunity to remove the material from social media.
It may be mentioned that the Islamabad High Court has released on bail Mirza Iftikharuddin, accused of threatening Justice Qazi Faiz Issa on social media.
Serena Issa alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan, Federal Law Minister Forough Naseem and the Prime Minister's Adviser on Accountability Shehzad Akbar and a man named Muhammad Ashfaq leaked their tax documents.
It may be recalled that Justice Faiz Issa had written a verdict on a suo motu notice of a sit-in of a religious party in Faizabad in which the Ministry of Defense was ordered to take action against the army officers who violated their oath. While interfering in political affairs.
An appeal for review was also filed by the Ministry of Defense against this decision, but after more than a year, the appeal for review has not been set for hearing in the Supreme court.
