FATF decides to keep Pakistan on gray list


 (Sindh Tribune) : A three-day virtual meeting of the FATF was held in which Pakistan's measures against money laundering and terror financing were reviewed.

 A press conference was held at the end of the virtual meeting in which President FATF Marks Player said that Pakistan's name will be included in the FATF's gray list while Pakistan has implemented 21 out of 27 points.  Pakistan will have to implement the remaining 6 points.

He said that Pakistan would be on the gray list for the time being till February 2021 and would check before the next meeting whether Pakistan was implementing these points effectively or not.

 The FATF President said that once Pakistan had ensured the implementation of all the 27 points, a team would visit Pakistan to assess the ground realities.

 Marx Player further said that the 6 points that Pakistan has to follow are very important, the government of Pakistan has assured that it will implement them and Pakistan is making progress in implementing the points.

 He said that progress and implementation of 27 points is being sought in Pakistan.
